Dr. S.V. Mahadevan is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. In his 24 years at Stanford, he has served as ED Medical Director, Associate Chief and founding Department Chair. He is presently the Director of Global Affairs and Strategy for Stanford Medicine and Stanford Health Care, and the Director of South Asia Outreach, Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE).
Dr. Mahadevan has expertise on emergency health systems and was instrumental in setting up India’s first national EMS system, Nepal’s first EMS system, Cambodia’s first emergency medicine strengthening program and Myanmar’s first emergency medicine training program.
He co-founded Prisalis in 2020, a startup that delivers a comprehensive, low-cost digital health platform to healthcare providers and their patients in resource-challenged settings. Their high-fidelity telehealth solution can provide healthcare access for patients residing in areas without physicians. In India, the Prisalis system currently caters to over 750,000 patients.
